The basement of Building 29A housed the animal rooms, feed storage, and cage washing equipment in recent history. Originally, there was at least one animal room on each floor of Building 29, with most of the 5th floor housing animals, including monkeys. Over time the basement of 29A became the place where the animals and their associated cage washing, feed storage rooms, etc. were kept.
