Do you have scientific instruments or a non-scientific object that speaks to NIH history? Perhaps you have some photographs from your time at NIH? Or maybe you need help finding a home for all those old documents and manuals and trade catalogs? If so, we'll be glad to help!
Do you like history or even just organizing stuff? Good! Because we need all the help that we can get! Our volunteers do things from processing archival and library collections to researching and writing about museum objects. They even conduct oral history interviews. And sometimes they do really exciting things like help us scan photographs or move boxes, but that's up to you. We have college students and retired physicians volunteer for us.
The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) has made it possible for people to help support our work through the Bob Berger Memorial Fund.
Have you, or has someone you know, had a interesting career or relationship with the National Institutes of Health? You can record your history for future historians.
Sometimes our small office sponsors big events. Here's a list of some that you can attend (virtually) from the past. For more recent events, see our News and Events feed.
