National
History Day Resources
National
History Day (NHD) is a program that encourages
junior and senior high school students to explore
historical topics and present their ideas in a
range of formats, from documentary film, to dramatic
presentations, to exhibits. For more information
about NHD and how you and your school can get
involved, see the organization's website: www.nationalhistoryday.org.
The
theme for 2006-2007 is: "Triumph and Tragedy."
Potential
projects related to NIH history would include:
- AIDS
research in the early 1980s
- The research showing that Pellagra
could be prevented through better diet
If
you are interested in pursuing an NIH topic for
National History Day, please send an email to:
history@nih.gov.
