Caroline
Hannaway has worked as Historical Consultant
and Editor for Office of NIH History and
Stetten Museum projects on a broad spectrum
of topics since 1992. Oral histories of
leading NIH scientists and administrators
have been one of her areas of focus. Among
her research interests are the history of
disease, the history of AIDS and its effects
on scientific research, and the history
of cochlear implants. Dr. Hannaway was previously
Director of the Francis C. Wood Institute
for the History of Medicine at the College
of Physicians of Philadelphia. At the NIH,
she has also worked for the National Institute
on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders
and the National Library of Medicine. Dr.
Hannaway has been a historical consultant
for other federal agencies, including the
Public Health Service, the Food and Drug
Administration, and the Drug Enforcement
Administration. Her editorial experience
includes editorship of the Bulletin
of the History of Medicine and
Transactions and Studies of the College
of Physicians of Philadelphia, and
she is currently Associate Editor of the
Journal of History of Medicine and
Allied Sciences. |
